CCCB –one of the major cultural centres in Barcelona– hosted the exhibition “1,000 m² of Desire”, which looks at the way the Western society has imagined, planned and built architectural spaces for sex. From the XVIII th century to the present day, it includes pieces and ideas by Charles Fourier, the Marquis De Sade, Guy Debord, Carlo Mollino and Adolf Loos, among others. The graphic elements of the exhibition play with around main concept: the powerful eroticism radiating from what is kept only partially hidden –that which shows itself just enough to excite the imagination. Headlines and large-scale image reproductions are concealed behind the architectural elements, either hidden around corners, behind panels or crossing the articulations of space.
